Anatomy is the base for all character and creature modeling.
Creating characters and creatures without understanding anatomy is just pure guesswork as you need to know the basics in order to be able to create anything original going forward.
It is present all throughout the process, either by carefully following the correct anatomy or by consciously breaking the natural proportions for stylized characters.
