German O. 4.9 (295) Interior designer Posted Tuesday at 04:21 AM 0 Cozy spaces evoke feelings of comfort, warmth, and protection. They're often achieved with layered soft fabrics like pillows, blankets, or quilts, and a well-balanced color palette. Lighting plays a crucial role in reinforcing this atmosphere. To create a cozy ambiance: Use warm-toned lights (2,700–3,000K) instead of stark white lighting, as these mimic the glow of natural sunlight during golden hours. Add LED strips under shelves or cabinets to provide indirect, diffuse light that enhances depth and highlights textures. Layer your lighting with different fixtures, such as floor lamps, table lamps, and wall sconces, to build zones of comfort and dimension. Opt for dimmable lights to adjust brightness based on mood or time of day, perfect for transitioning from day to night. By combining warm lighting with thoughtful design choices, you can create spaces that feel inviting and tranquil, tailored for relaxation. Dutchbydesign 5.0 (470) Interior designer Posted October 31 0 For me, when a client asks for a room style that is cozy, I always give for decor lamps that can placed around the room and that give a warm glow - not a white light. Thinks simple are string lights, little battery powered LED globes), candles (fake candles are safer) and different shades for your lamps. Bamboo shades and salt lamps produce a yellow glow. Stay away from clear glass shades. And try and use different surfaces. Walls, table tops & floor can all work well. Another idea that I use often is not even a lamp - but a heater with a fake fire effect. I just have the fire effect on without the heater haha. It works so well (I got that on now). Best of luck. studio57_3dviz 5.0 (15) Graphics & Design Posted October 14 0 Cozy spaces are often associated with warmth, and achieving this in interior design can be done by understanding the color temperature scale (if we're being particularly meticulous and serious). For residential spaces, the optimal range is between 2700 and 3000 Kelvins. It's also important to consider using dimmers, which allow you to adjust the brightness in the room, creating a more intimate and relaxing atmosphere when needed.
