For web design, I rely on a few key tools that streamline the design process, enhance collaboration, and improve the final product’s quality. Here are my go-to tools and why I prefer them:

  1. Figma: Figma is my top choice for UI/UX design because of its cloud-based functionality, which makes collaboration seamless. It’s perfect for creating high-fidelity designs, building interactive prototypes, and sharing work with clients and developers in real time. The built-in commenting feature is great for gathering feedback, and its design system capabilities allow me to maintain consistency across complex projects.
  2. Adobe XD: I'm also an expert in Adobe XD, which is excellent for designing responsive layouts and creating prototypes with rich animations. It integrates seamlessly with other Adobe products, which is particularly useful for intricate design elements that require Illustrator or Photoshop. I use Adobe XD when projects need specific Adobe tools or when clients are already working within the Adobe ecosystem.
  3. InVision: I rely on InVision for prototyping complex interactions and gathering feedback directly from clients and team members.
  4. Photoshop & Illustrator: Essential for custom graphics and image editing. Photoshop handles image adjustments, while Illustrator is perfect for scalable icons and vector assets.

Figma for design - it's specifically made for web design and the client can comment directly on the design

Adobe Illustrator - for vectors
Adobe Photoshop - for images (ex. cropping images)
Lottie - for animations
Spline - for 3D interactive elements
Midjourney - for inspiration and generating some artwork

So, a combination, depending of client requirements.

When it comes to web design, I primarily rely on a few key tools that help me create visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites:

  1. Figma: Figma is my go-to tool for UI/UX design due to its robust features for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. What sets Figma apart is its cloud-based, real-time collaboration capabilities, allowing seamless teamwork and client feedback. While I’ve used Adobe XD in the past, with Adobe’s acquisition of Figma, it’s clear that Figma is the future of design, making XD an increasingly outdated choice.
  2. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator): The Adobe Creative Suite is indispensable in my workflow, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator. Photoshop is perfect for detailed image editing and manipulation, while Illustrator is essential for creating scalable vector graphics. The suite’s comprehensive set of tools allows me to handle everything from complex visual design to branding assets, ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.
  3. Webflow: For the actual implementation of designs, Webflow is my preferred platform. It allows me to design, build, and launch responsive websites visually, without heavy reliance on coding. Webflow’s flexibility and power ensure that the final product stays true to the original design while also being highly functional and responsive.
  4. Miro: In the initial stages of design, I use Miro for brainstorming, sketching out ideas, and creating early drafts. Miro’s digital whiteboard capabilities make it easy to collaborate with teams and clients, providing a space where ideas can flow freely before refining them into more polished designs in Figma.

Together, these tools form a comprehensive workflow that takes me from initial concepts to finished, functional websites.
