rachelfwilliams 5.0 (255) Film score composer Posted December 4 0 I don't really mind this as much, because I just want to help tell the story that my client wants to tell, but through music. It's a team thing, not any competition thing. At the end of the day, it's what the soul says through art, with no rules applied, and that's an irreplaceable and unique enough thing for a creative to put out, I would think. Paul T 4.9 (441) Music & Audio Posted November 13 0 First of all, music needs to engage its intended audience by inspiring emotions in them. The primary goal is not just to stand out but to "talk" to the listener. Whether you are writing a film score or a pop song, using a great hook or a perfect motif will help your music accomplish its purpose. Before you release it, showcase your music to people you trust as good critics. This is a must! Then, listen to their feedback and make adjustments based on that. This will help your song stand out. See profile Link to comment https://answers.fiverr.com/qa/12_music-audio/126_composers/whats-your-strategy-for-ensuring-that-your-compositions-stand-out-in-a-crowded-music-industry-r702/#findComment-3220 Share on other sites
Nick Kold 5.0 (229) Film score composer Sound designer Posted August 27 0 It's actually not something I think about. I think it's all about just letting it flow and following through on what you initially feel or experience when making music. This is what gives it character and personality. As long as what you make is true to you and comes from a clear state of unforced joy - eventually, it will evolve into something unique. And that's that feeling I'm always trying to hunt - making something that leaves an imprint and makes sense to put out. It adds new ideas to the musical landscape - be it big or small.
