My preferred platform is Fiverr. Where else you can you have access to a global marketplace, and have the credibility of a strong company like fiverr behind you..making you look great, and collecting your money in advance. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

I have never figured out how voice.com works! I felt like I was working for free -I tried once, was selected on that first attempt, but could not understand how it all works. Never get paid in the end (my mistake I think).

Bodalgo is the more respected online platform compared to Voices.com. Bodalgo tries to be more fair in giving equal opportunity to voice-over talents to get access to clients. Voices.com had some sketchy business practices a few years ago that turned folks away and became way too flooded with talents trying to get into the business. But Voices.com has a lot more jobs coming through than Bodalgo. I think if need practice first, go with Voices.com. If you are a more trained talent, then go with Bodalgo.

I would agree with pretty much all the comments so far.

Both sites are very over subscribed, Voices is ethically very 'light touch', to put it mildly, so you often see jobs that require a huge amount of work posted for very small fees.  Bodalgo was too expensive (for me, at any rate) to warrant being in competition with a hundred people who also audition for the same job.

Voices takes hefty fees.  I've also seen a drop in the number of jobs I get on Voices during the last 2 years, compared to 5 years ago, and my personal opinion is that they have simply increased their pool of voices so much (therefore their profits, as they charge several hundred pounds to be on the platform) that now there are too many of us.

It's a huge risk forking out money, you can easily end up never recouping it.

Both Voices.com and Bodalgo are great options, but both would depend on your location and budget. I have been a voice talent on Voices.com for a long time and find the process to be quite straightforward. For either, make sure your project needs are clear and you familiarize yourself with how each platform filters talent to get the most effective casting.

As a Romanian voice-over artist, Bodalgo might be a better option for you compared to Voices.com, but it depends on your goals and target market. Here’s a breakdown of both platforms for Romanian voice actors:

Bodalgo

✅ Better for European and international clients – Many European businesses, including German and other EU-based companies, use Bodalgo.
✅ No mandatory membership fees – You can audition and get jobs without a paid membership, making it a low-risk option.
✅ More tailored projects – Since it attracts serious buyers, you might find projects with fairer rates.
❌ Less volume of work compared to Voices.com – Fewer auditions available, but the competition is also lower.

Voices.com

✅ Larger client base – Many international companies post jobs, including high-budget projects.
✅ More auditions daily – If you’re proactive, you can submit more applications.
❌ Expensive membership – To access most jobs, you need a Premium membership ($499/year).
❌ High competition – Many voice actors compete for the same projects, so standing out is harder.

Best Choice?

If you want a European-focused platform with free access to jobs → Bodalgo

If you’re looking for volume and big-budget clients (and are willing to invest in membership) → Voices.com

Ideally, try both and see where you get better results.

I’ve been using both platforms for a year now. I started exploring other options after Fiverr introduced its infamous algorithm, which has made life even harder for us voice-over artists. We’re already dealing with demanding clients who, despite paying for one or zero revisions, somehow manage to request countless changes. The addition of the customer satisfaction survey, which lowers overall ratings, hasn’t benefited anyone and has significantly reduced traffic on a platform that used to perform well in the past. Considering the low prices here and the heavy taxation we face, I wonder how sustainable it will be in the long run to keep voice-over artists at the mercy of clients instead of supporting those who prove themselves competent and reliable over time.

As for Fiverr’s question, I also work with Bodalgo, where I have a subscription and have started landing jobs (paid three times more than here). I don’t have a subscription with Voices, but I’m beginning to collaborate with them quite regularly.

Both platforms are relatively crowded. A single lucrative job offer often draws more than 100 applications—some even within the first 10 minutes of posting. As a result, clients often don’t listen to many of the submissions or samples at all. It’s also very rare to receive any feedback on an application. Overall, both platforms offer only a rather unsatisfactory experience for voice over artists. In addition, both charge fees. The projects posted are usually interesting, and well-known clients are often involved. However, overall I would rate both platforms rather negatively.
