How do you handle different character voices and accents in a single audiobook?

Handling different character voices and accents in an audiobook can be tricky, but it’s also one of the fun parts! For example, in Operation Odessa, I voiced multiple characters, each with their own distinct style—there were Russian mobsters, American agents, and more. I really get into each character by understanding their personality, background, and the way they speak. For accents, I make sure I study them properly beforehand—whether it’s the smooth tone of a Colombian drug lord or the rough edge of a New York detective. I also record a lot of trial takes and listen back to make sure I’m staying consistent.

In I Can’t Breathe, where I voiced various real people involved in the story, I had to balance staying true to their voices while also bringing emotion into it. It's a lot of prep work, but it pays off.
