The choice between Twitch and YouTube Gaming often depends on a streamer’s goals, audience preferences, and the type of content they create.

YouTube offers higher AD rates (CPM) than Twitch.

Memberships on YouTube can be customized to your desired value, in case of twitch subscription tiers are fixed and you cannot change them, Again YouTube have upper hand here.

  • For Beginners: YouTube might be better due to easier discoverability and long-term video monetization.
  • For Established Streamers: Twitch could be more lucrative if you have a loyal audience willing to subscribe and cheer regularly.
  • For Hybrid Creators: A mix of platforms could work best — stream on Twitch while uploading highlights or unique content to YouTube to leverage its search-driven discoverability.

    Sharing My experience:
so i stream on both Twitch and YouTube. On Twitch I have very low watching like 7 to 10 people watching but those people are willing to sub me and sometime they gift sub like 10 subs 20 subs so for me its easy to generate the minimum trash hold set by twitch. but incase of YouTube it took me more time to generate same amount of income despite of more audience like 15 to 40 people as audience are more into watching than doing memberships and super chats (due to my target audience).

    Conclusion:  T
he choice depends on where your target audience (do they have power of buying) and is most active and how you want to balance live and on-demand content. for me its Twitch as there my audience have buying power.
