Communication is key. Before starting a project, I always ask for references or any guides that can help me understand what the client is looking for. I also make it a point to get step-by-step feedback during the process, ensuring that the client approves each stage of my work. Additionally, I send previews before completing the final renderings, which saves both my time and the client's time, keeping us both satisfied.

Closely analyze the project's aesthetic, mood, and visual language during pre-production, reference key visuals, maintain consistent lighting and color palettes in my VFX, and actively collaborate with the buyer and other creative teams to receive feedback and iterate on my work throughout the process.

Communication is extremely important in order to understand the “look” that the project needs.

It is always good to have some reference images and a deep talk with the Director about his vision. After that everything becomes easier.

Usually if changes are needed at the end, they are minor.

Constant communication at every step with the key creatives. Sometimes it’s the director, sometimes the producer.

When the director is unsure, I offer my expertise to get them the best bang for the buck and have them approve it or iterate the results.

It's essential to align precisely with the director when it comes to the visual style. Words alone are often insufficient in this area, as when we hear a word like "car," each of us pictures something different in our minds. One word can cover infinite images, infinite styles.

It's important to request visual aids from the director, such as moodboards and lookboards, which use images to help convey the film’s visual language.

These images can be screenshots from other films, for example, but the key is that they allow the creators to communicate the vision’s look, mood, shapes, textures, and colors through visuals rather than relying on words alone.

To make sure my VFX work aligns with the overall style of the project, I start by having a thorough discussion with the client or director to understand their vision and style preferences. I ask for references and any specific guidelines they have for the look and feel of the effects.

Throughout the project, I keep regular communication with the client to share progress and get feedback. This helps ensure that my work stays on track with their vision. I also provide early drafts or test versions of the effects so they can see how things are shaping up and make any adjustments if needed.

By staying in close contact and being open to their input, I make sure that the VFX work blends seamlessly with the overall style of the project and meets the client’s expectations.
