Become a fan of your project. Play the game. Read the book. Understand the characters. Get to know the meaning of the story.

Being a translator dedicated to video games, comics, and novels, the most important thing to preserve the original meaning and tone is to familiarize yourself with the content as the primary point. This way, you will understand the context as much as possible and will be able to make the best translation possible.

Sometimes, you may not always have access to the full or final content you are working on, so it will be of great importance to ask your client for as many details as possible about the project, such as character profiles, story overview, reference videos, target audience, etc.

Anyone can do a literal or robotic translation, or even use AI for that matter, but it will never be equal to understanding the work you are working on and expressing its full potential in your own language, just like in its original language, this is where your importance and added value as a translator lies.

As a Spanish translator, I always make sure to know the purpose, type of text and audience of the text. It's important to have in mind these factors as they will help you to use the right tone, level of formality and vocabulary/terminology. Also, the language fluency is key to make sure you understand the meaning and be able to convey the message.

Happy to help!

As a seasoned expert in Spanish and Italian translations, my primary objective is to deliver work that not only faithfully conveys the original message but also seamlessly adapts to the cultural and linguistic intricacies of the target audience. This process is rooted in a deep understanding of the source material, achieved through rigorous analysis and comprehensive research into its cultural and contextual nuances. By employing a strategic approach to linguistic adaptation, I ensure that every lexical choice and stylistic decision aligns precisely with the author’s intentions while resonating effectively with the intended readers.

Literal translations are deliberately avoided to eliminate rigidity or an unnatural tone. Instead, I employ advanced translation techniques and stylistic refinements to produce a text that feels both authentic and fluent. Each project undergoes a rigorous, multi-step revision process, meticulously designed to guarantee accuracy, coherence, and a polished, professional result. Moreover, I prioritize maintaining open lines of communication with clients, fostering a collaborative partnership where feedback is not only welcomed but actively integrated to enhance and perfect the final product.

This comprehensive and methodical approach ensures that every translation exceeds expectations, providing a culturally attuned and linguistically precise representation of the original content, tailored to the unique requirements of each audience.

To ensure that the original meaning and tone of a text is preserved, I analyze the client and the target audience. Some clients have a clear brand voice and it is easy to get that from their website and social media. This clear identity is also helpful in understanding their audience. However, some clients do not have such a clear brand identity or it is non-existent. In these cases, I like to ask more questions to make sure the tone is what the client wants and that the translation is aligned with their goals.

It's really important to make sure that the original meaning and tone are preserved in the translation. To do this, it's essential to understand the text's purpose, target audience, and cultural nuances. This requires a comprehensive understanding of both the source and target languages, as well as the cultural contexts associated with them. It's also really helpful to use idioms, expressions, and phrasing that convey a similar emotional impact and subtlety. Therefore, a thorough research on any ambiguous terms or context-specific references to ensure accuracy is needed.
