Jim S 4.9 (3030) Writing & Translation Posted October 2 0 Rehearse. Rehearse. Rehearse. I don't mean learn it all parrot-fashion. What I mean is give the presentation as if it were the actual event—i.e., stand up, talk, gesticulate. Do whatever you think is appropriate during the presentation. Don't just do it once! Repeat several times. When you have transitioned between slides and retold your joke several times, you'll be much more confident. Muhammad Faheem 4.9 (1184) Graphics & Design Posted September 24 0 When I was about to deliver my first-ever presentation on the stage, my elder brother advised me to keep this in my mind. "I know this topic extremely well." This helped me a lot to gain confidence and I nailed that presentation. The more you know about your topic, the more you feel confident. The more you feel confident, the better you deliver. Also, the best confidence pill is PRACTICE! So know your topic, practice a lot and present with confidence. Poonam Shah 4.9 (33) Project manager Posted September 16 0 This is a very valid fear which I have faced multiple times myself. Here are my top tips: Know the subject matter inside out so you don't need to read from the slides Look at the audience but don't make eye contact - look at their foreheads Practice, practice, practice - have a dry run with the materials with a friendly audience Record yourself if possible to see how you come across and improvise Best wishes. This is skill to continuously improve on. Maria M 4.9 (752) Graphics & Design Posted September 4 0 If stage fright hits before a big presentation, trust me—you’re not alone! Here’s how I manage: I practice my material many times. I focus on the message I'm delivering, not on myself. I engage with the audience by making eye contact and connecting with friendly faces. In my opinion, it’s not about being perfect. If you stumble, just keep going—most people won’t even notice, and if they do, they’ll forget in five seconds! Emiliya 4.9 (1891) Business Posted August 21 1 Feeling nervous before a big presentation is normal, no matter how experienced you are! Here’s how to turn that nervous energy into stage power: Get Ready to Rock: Know your material inside out! The more you prep, the more confident you’ll be. Calm those nerves with a simple breathing trick. Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, exhale for 6, and pause before your next breath. This mini reset will keep you grounded, and that longer exhale really works wonders. Say no to caffeine, and sugar — they’ll just ramp up your anxiety. You want to feel energized, not jittery! Don’t get too chill — you need to bring the energy! Think of a time you nailed it, do some jumps, or strike a power pose to get pumped up. When you hit the stage, act natural and be yourself. You’re there for a reason, so own it! This is your chance to connect and make an impact.
