There are two major areas where AI is already having a significant impact.

AI algorithms used by paid search platforms like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and TikTok Ads are reshaping the landscape of digital advertising.

For example, Google Ads' Performance Max campaigns generate highly relevant and personalized ads across multiple channels, including search, display, YouTube, and email. While these algorithms aren’t perfect, they are continually improving, especially with Google’s push to integrate AI-powered settings across its advertising platforms.

AI is also automating many aspects of ad creation and management. Every major platform offers tools to generate or optimize ad copy and creatives, dynamically adjust bids and budgets based on performance data, and conduct A/B testing at scale. Machine learning algorithms process large datasets to detect patterns and anomalies in campaign performance, forecasting key metrics like click-through rates and conversions.

These platforms also provide “actionable” recommendations to enhance campaign outcomes. However, in my experience, these recommendations often do more harm than good, so it’s crucial to have an experienced professional review and decline them when necessary.


AI tools in SEM and SEO help marketers stand out in paid search (Google Ads, Facebook Ads) and in SEO and local SEO (Google Maps). Today, no digital marketing professional operates without AI tools.

AI helps gather and analyze competitor data, such as keywords, ad copy, and key metrics. These insights are invaluable for building high-performing campaigns and converting ads.

Additionally, AI-driven tools streamline the creation of SEO-optimized content. By analyzing top-ranking pages for a given keyword, these tools can create content outlines and produce high-quality, search engine-friendly articles. Users can customize the content format, tone of voice, and structure before generating a draft. Features like keyword optimization, content scoring, and competitor analysis further ensure that the generated content adheres to SEO best practices and competes effectively in search results.

AI and ML help marketers reduce campaign delivery time while achieving significantly better results and delivering more personalized experiences to their target audiences.
